Year 3: Health, Safety and Child Protection
Children should be taught the following:
- That information found on the internet might not be correct and should be checked for accuracy
- That any one can make a website and information could be biased.
- What to do if they come across a page that makes them feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. • What to do if they receive unpleasant emails or messages
- That people they meet online, might not be who they say they are
- Never to give out personal information or photos online
- Never to meet anyone unless they are with their parent
- To know that some images and text on the web are protected by copyright
- That there are rules that children should follow when using ICT in school
Teachers should know the following:
- All Health and Safety regulations as outlined in the school policy
- The school's acceptable use policy regarding ICT
