Learn-ICT Internet Safety site overhauled!
We have redesigned the Learn-ICT Internet Safety area to make it simpler to find all the linked websites and resources. If you have made links to the original area, please update them to point to the new site!
Secondary ICT Curriculum Collaboration Area
As part of the Swansea-Edunet Portal development, there is an area for all teachers of ICT in Secondary Schools to collaborate

ICT Mark for Pentrehafod and Bishopston
Young people at Pentrehafod School and Bishopston Comprehensive are at the forefront of using ICT to enhance their work according to Becta. Following an extensive external assessment the schools have been awarded the prestigious ICT Mark by Becta, the government-funded body responsible for promoting the use of ICT in Britain's schools and colleges. The award recognises the schools' success in developing the strategic use of ICT in both administration and across the curriculum. Congratulations to staff and pupils at both schools for reaching the required threshold for the award.
Open Office 2 in Welsh for Mac and PC
The highly-acclaimed - and free - office software Open Office 2 is now available in a Welsh language version for both Mac and PC operating systems. Go here for more details and download information.
Anti-Virus Guidance for Schools
Computer viruses have now become more widespread and this has increased the necessity for all desktop and laptop computers to have anti-virus siftware installed. You can view the Anti-Virus Guidance for Schools here or download the article in Word format from the Support Materials section.
GCSE ICT Applications
Helen Yewlett and staff at at YG Ystalyfera have created materials
to aid revision for the ICT Applications section of the GCSE ICT
examination. The files are in PDF format and also include two Powerpoint
presentations and can be downloaded in the Support
Materials section.
Internet Access
and Security Settings for Portable Whiteboards
The portables issued as part of the Whiteboard Initiative are not
by default part of the school network nor have Internet access.
Instructions are available to download so users can connect to the
Internet temporarily prior to the full integration of the portable
into the school’s network. Also available are the instructions for
security settings and password access to the portable whiteboards.
Both documents are available in Word and PDF format in the Support
Materials section.
