Mumbles Head

Mumbles Head is an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are excellent views across Swansea Bay and on clear days the North Devon coast can be seen. During the heyday of the Mumbles Train, local people and tourists would visit this area to enjoy the scenery and stroll along the pier.

This short film clip shows the Mumbles Train leaving the Mumbles Pier Terminus on its return journey to the Rutland Street Terminus. The queue barriers can be clearly seen in the film.

This area remains very popular today. In the pictures below, the old lifeboat house can be seen to the left of the pier. This is no longer used. A new lifeboat house has been built by the RNLI.
