Welcome to Inclusive Swansea
Inclusive Swansea is a web site set up to share examples of activities undertaken by schools in and around the Swansea area who are using ICT to help meet the requirements of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice for Wales and address the additional needs of children within our schools.
The examples of practice were gathered as part of a six week sabbatical funded by the General Teaching Council for Wales in partnership with the Education Effectiveness Service of the City and County of Swansea.
It is hoped that education and health professionals can use some of these ideas in their own situations and share their own practice in our professional support network which accompanies this project.
The Inclusion Handbook brings together information and advice about how the City and County of Swansea, in partnership with schools, parents and other agencies, works together to promote and deliver the effective inclusion of children and young people. As part of the sabbatical we are looking to create a virtual professional support network for those in the education and health fields of supporting children in which you can pose questions, share tips or help others meet the needs of children and not just by using ICT!
It is hoped that by sharing the considerable expertise that there is in and around the Swansea area that teachers will be able to pick up or share information to meet the needs of the child.
