As Deputy
Headteacher, I usually teach a Year 5 class of 28 children but from September
2000 I have been Acting Headteacher at the school. Therefore, the children's
work and planning of it are taken from the academic year 1999/2000.
I have taught
at the school for three years but I began my teaching career in September
1971. I have three children and spent some of the time, since I qualified,
at home with my children. I am an experienced teacher and have taught
all ages from Nursery to Form 5! At Blaenhonddan Primary I am Subject
Leader of Design Technology, Information Technology and Science.
Blaenhonddan
Primary School is situated in the village of Bryncoch, in Neath. There
are approximately 250 children on roll. My Year 5 class is a mixed ability,
single age class. My classroom is in a separate building to the main block
and I share the building with the Y6 class. There is an open area between
the classes which we share. My class has access to three PCs, A7000, A3020,
printers and a scanner.
